60+ Years of Networking Experience
Wetatronics is the creation of two engineers steeped in the technology and commercials of networking. With more than 60 years of industry experience between them, the founders have experienced first-hand the costs and operational overheads imposed by proprietary console server solutions.
Recognizing that a simpler, lower-cost alternative wouldn’t come from vendors with a vested interest in network complexity, they built ConX-SFP — a serial console server that fits in an SFP slot and works with infrastructure you already have.
Our approach
- Simple by design: ConX-SFP ships ready to go — DHCP, plug in, connect. No complex provisioning.
- Use existing infrastructure: Every network device has SFP slots. ConX-SFP uses them instead of demanding dedicated rack space and power.
- No vendor lock-in: Works with any device that has a 1G SFP slot and an RS-232 console — Cisco, Juniper, Arista, MikroTik, and more.
- Cloud or on-prem: ConX Portal is available as a cloud service or deployed on-premises for air-gapped environments.
What’s in the name?

Weta - New Zealand
Able to induce fascination and horror at the same time, the weta is a pre-historic insect endemic to New Zealand.
We adopted the weta as our name and symbol because it is uniquely Kiwi and because, despite its inherently docile nature, it terrifies much bigger creatures.
